FRONTIER seeks to enableempower and release individuals for missional leadership as church planters or missional practitioners within the local church by nurturing life-long discipleship, faith, and spirituality in a mission context capable of renewing established local faith communities or planting new churches.

A GROWTH EXPERIENCE

FRONTIER is delivered through the St Luke's Albury Campus of Melbourne School of Theology, a non-denominational theological college.  As such, FRONTIER is open to any Christian seeking to grow their passion in seeing their local church touch the lives of those who do not yet know Jesus.

FRONTIER participants are encouraged to explore and develop their call to missional leadership as church planters or mission practitioners in their local church, in partnership with the leadership of their local church.  

 

FRONTIER units are designed to nurture a participant's spiritual growth, learning, practice, and application in a missional environment, empowered to embrace the missional challenge under the grace of the Spirit’s guiding.​

A MISSIONAL CHURCH

FRONTIER is an integral part of St Luke’s Lutheran Church, Albury, NSW, and her missional focus of being a Growing Community for a Growing City.  

 

FRONTIER is an important aspect of the Lutheran Church of Australia New South Wales District's vision of being a church walking together in mission. 

 

FRONTIER is a missional ministry in partnership with the Lutheran Church of Australia’s New and Renewing Churches Department.

FLEXIBLE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

FRONTIER offers a variety of learning opportunities.  These include:

 

  • Online learning through Melbourne School of Theology

  • Intensives / Workshops in Albury

  • Interaction with missional and church planting practitioners

  • Supervised & mentored in-the-field learning practice

  • Tutorials

  • Library Resources.

NATIONALLY ACCREDITED TRAINING

FRONTIER is delivered at St Luke's, Albury campus of Melbourne School of Theology, an affiliated College of The Australian College of Theology (CRICOS: 02650E) offering an academic pathway towards a fully accredited and nationally recognized degree.  

 

Participants can choose to do a full degree:

 

  • Diploma of Ministry 

or

  • Graduate Diploma of Divinity.

or

Participants can choose to do single units that interest them and help them transition to a more missional mindset within their local church.
