Participants who complete the FRONTIER experience will return to their home church or into a missional ministry with the following:

1.  Practical experience in forming and sustaining a Community of Practice.  

2.  Experience in creating, sustaining, growing, and developing missional communities.

3.  A developed pattern of life-long spiritual formation, faith and discipleship practice.

4.  A growing understanding of missional Leadership, including understanding social demographics, cultural narratives, and how to develop a Vision for Mission.

5.  A working appreciation of the strengths and weaknesses of various evangelism and discipleship methodologies.

6.  An appreciation for the theological fundamentals that shape and flavour missional ministry.

7.  An understanding of Spiritual warfare.

8.  Introduction to counselling, pastoral care, suicide intervention & first aid, and the ministry of reconciliation.

9.  Refined & focussed ministry and missional assessments.

10.   Ethical behaviour and standards for operating within a church environment.

Price:

FRONTIER fees for 2018 are $4,575.  These are broken down into semesters of $2287.50 or quarters of $1143.75.  A 5% discount is available for participants who pay the full year before end of January 2018.

The price includes:

·         Travel costs associated with study, visits to missional communities and                   missional activities.

·         First-Aid Training

·         ASIST (Suicide first aid)

·         Assessments

·         Mission Conferences, workshops, webinars, forums.

(Non-residential fees, for local Albury/Wodonga FRONTIER participants for 2018 are $2,100.  These are broken down into semesters of $1,050 or quarters of $525.  A 5% discount is available for participants who pay the full year before end of January 2018.

The price includes:

·         Travel costs associated with study, visits to missional communities and missional activities.

·         First-Aid Training

·         Professional Standards Training

·         Reconciliation Training

·         ASIST (Suicide first aid)

·         Assessments

·         Mission Conferences, workshops, webinars, forums.)

The price for either the Diploma of Christian Studies or Graduate Diploma of Divinity are as follows:

Diploma of Christian Studies:

$15,775** - including $4575 FRONTIER fee, plus the cost for the Diploma of Christian Studies at $1,400 (per 4cp subject) with a total of $11,200 (32cps) for the entire degree completed during the year with FRONTIER.

Graduate Diploma of Divinity:

$20,975**– including $4575 FRONTIER fee, plus the cost for the Bachelor of Ministry at $2,050 (per 4cp subject), with a total of 8 units $16,400 completed during the year with FRONTIER.

(**costs are based on 2017 fees with MST.  These fees are adjusted each year and are set by MST.  Please check the MST website for fee schedule at http://www.mst.edu.au/ under “Course Information”.)

**FEE-Help for Diploma of Christian Studies or Graduate Diploma of Divinity:

FEE-HELP is available for Australian Citizens and those holding special Visas for both the Diploma of Christian Studies and the Graduate Diploma of Divinity (conditions apply – see http://studyassist.gov.au).  The price of FRONTIER with FEE-Help assistance for both Diploma of Christian Studies and Graduate Diploma of Divinity is $4575.   Applicants need to ascertain their own eligibility for FEE-Help as part of their application with FRONTIER and application into either the Diploma of Christian Studies or Graduate Diploma of Divinity.

Audit:

All subjects within the Diploma of Ministry or the Graduate Diploma of Christian Studies may be audited at a cost of $200 per unit, making it a total of $1,600 for the year.  Please discuss with us your interests and we will help to accommodate you within the program.  The total cost for FRONTIER with auditing of units is $6,175.  There is no FEE-Help available for participants who chose to only audit units.

Food and other living expenses are the participants own expense.  However, St Luke’s is a very generous community, and we will assist you in whatever ways we can.

Youth Allowance/AUSTUDY
As a full-time student FRONTIER participants may be eligible for Youth Allowance or AUStudy.  As a residential study program, participants will be living away from home, which potentially increases their eligibility.  Please note that AUStudy and Youth Allowance are means tested.

AUStudy (+25 years) & Youth Allowance (<18-25 years) rates, which are applicable only for a full-time study load deemed to be at 75%, are available from the Department of Human Services - https://www.humanservices.gov.au/customer/payment-finder/

A FEE-HELP loan is not available for the residential aspect of this course, or for those who choose to audit the course units within the Diploma of Christian Studies or the Graduate Diploma of Divinity.

FEE-HELP is available for Australian Citizens and those holding special Visas for both the Diploma of Christian Studies and the Graduate Diploma of Divinity through the Melbourne School of Theology (conditions apply – see http://studyassist.gov.au).

Scholarships: 
Thanks to the generosity of the Lutheran Church of Australia’s “50/500 Give It A Go” funding and the Lutheran Church of Australia – New South Wales’s “Mission Stimulus funding”, we can offer a subsidy or scholarship to applicants who are active members of the Lutheran Church of Australia.  Please discuss your needs with us, and we will assist you in applying for these.

At present there are no scholarships available for participants who are not active members of the Lutheran Church of Australia in 2018.
