FRONTIER Study Units
FRONTIER units are intentionally designed to enable, empower and release participants into missional ministry within the local church.
The units listed below constitute the 8 units of either degree, and form the first year to either a Bachelor of Ministry/Theology or opportunities for further post-graduate study.
Jesus and the Gospels
The story of Jesus is a living history reaching into your life, empowering you to share it with others. Jesus and the Gospels considers the missional implications of the Gospel for the world today.
This unit explores the context and setting of the Gospels, with a details study of one of the Gospels, and the relationship all four have to each other.
This unit also explores the identity and life of Jesus, and His significance for contemporary life and ministry.
Field Education Options
Learning through doing missional practice
Supervised Field Education
For those doing FRONTIER at post-graduate level, FRONTIER offers the opportunity to develop the lessons learnt in the Church Planting unit with hands on Church Planting Field Education exploring and laying the foundations for future Church Planting opportunities.
This unit builds on the formal Church Planting unit, by reviewing Church missiology, biblical insights and church planting models. It examines church planter's spirituality, missional practices, self care and discernment. It builds on cultural exegesis for contextualised church planting, analysis of vision casting, teams, bi-vocational leadership and discipleship.
